Growing

Series

In 2022, Growing was acquired by the City of Linz for the permanent collection of the Nordico Stadtmuseum Linz and selected by curator Sabine Fellner for Touch Nature at the LENTOS Kunstmuseum in 2025. The work was also mentioned in an article in Der Standard in connection with the exhibition. A variant of Growing II, a pigment transfer on aged aluminium, is held in the permanent collection of the LENTOS Kunstmuseum.

Artist Statement

Inspired by Growing, created for the album cover of Oscar®-winning composer, producer and pianist Volker Bertelmann, aka Hauschka, Growing II also explores the ideas of growth and connection through contrasting environments.

Following a visit to ESA in Darmstadt, I encountered the Frankfurt skyline from my hotel room and immediately began photographing it. The forest photograph was taken near my home in Austria.

The two works reflect my fascination with the contrast between the vibrancy of the city and the silence of the forest, while suggesting a deeper connection between the natural and the constructed world. Everything is growing. Everything is connected.
